Happy Trails

Knob Noster State Park is a mixture of prairie, savanna and forest with 3,934 acres that lies along both sides of a creek. The park features primitive camping sites (a fire ring and picnic table) and vault toilets, as well as water troughs, overnight stalls and hitching posts for the horses.

McAdoo Trail is the park's only trail open to equestrians. The 7.1-mile trail starts out wide open and lazy like an old country road. After about a mile, you hit the real trail—a foot path in some places. The trail winds through the woods, across creeks and even over an old-time plank bridge. You'll want to keep your eye out for wildlife; it's common to see deer in the woods. The many twists and turns make this trail a lot of fun for everyone!
