I just wanted to say a BIG Thank you to Jeff and his crew! My friend Deena and I did a 2 hour ride with Jeff on Friday and we had a blast! We rode down the Missouri River and it was absolutley beautiful! Not to mention that this is not your typical trail ride. Jeff made sure that Deena and I had the best experience possible! For someone like myself who grew up riding horses, this is not your typical ride : ) I definitly plan on riding with Jeff and his crew again it was worth every penny!!

I wanted to let you know that we had a good time and look forward to joining you for another trail ride later this year. I am hoping to bring my daughter. The weather wasn't nice to us until later, but the trails and horses were great! I don't get to ride next to my husband too often and enjoy a ride. I think my husband wasn't looking forward to it, but was pleasantly surprised. My not very experienced husband would be happy to come along again. Your professional manners and hospitality was great!!! A welcome change from other trail riding experiences. What you offer was something I normally don't get to do with other riding establishments. I even cantered my horse and I have not done that in ages! I plan to recommend your group to my friends that want a change from the normal riding routines. You offer something for everyone! Everything about the experience was wonderful (well, almost....). Jeff took the time to explain proper form while riding and how to control the horses before we even started which was very useful throughout the entire ride. Jeff and Nate were awesome guides and helpful when that experienced hand was necessary. The trails were great, both scenic and fun. This isn't your "just trotting along" path. It was a real experience! From that comes the "not wonderful' part...we were all sore! :)

I found your trail ride on Groupon and decided to try it because my daughter Kim loves to ride and doesn't get many chances to do it. I was impressed by all of the attention spent to making sure we had been matched with the right saddle and horse that reflected our riding experience. Also Jeff's instruction on the right way to ride, handle the reins etc, it definitly helped me enjoy the afternoon. The trails were great and my daughter was very impressed with the deversity of the trail we rode and the picturous scenery. I went on the 1 hour long guided horseback ride on June 19th 2010. I enjoyed every aspect of this adventure. I was given the basic horseback riding instruction by Jeff which were well explained and understandable. We were accompanied by Jeff’s two beautiful and charming daughters on the ride and many stories were told. I enjoyed the lake side ride and the trails thru the woods. I would highly recommend the fun and exciting rides that Show-Me Trails offers.

Good Morning! Jim and I rode with you on Feb 7. It was one of those really nice breaks in the February weather and I am so glad we took advantage of the day by going trail riding with you. I've ridden since I was a kid and had horses for years and years. I no longer own horses and really enjoy not having to put up hay! Though I no longer have enthusiasm for the daily care involved in keeping horses, I still love to ride and the fellowship of a good day outside with good folks. I thoroughly enjoyed my good horse, the company, and the whole experience. I got to canter across a field and it put a big grin on my face like it always has. My husband, Jim, is not an experienced rider but he was kept safe and happy by a nice horse and Jeff's help. We had a great time. THANKS!

Thank you for such a great time. It was nice to go on a trail ride to a place we have never been, and my mom had a great mothers day that she will remember forever. My brother also had a great time, he never really rode horses before...he loved it! and now he wants to get one of his own! Knob Noster Park was very beautiful...little purple flowers everywhere. And thanks to Jeff because we forgot our camera and he saved us because he brought one with him to take pictures of our event...thank you! We hope to get a chance to do it again. I cant say how much fun my family had . My husband and I and our four kids had the privilege of going hores back riding with Jeff . We had such a good time the experience was like none other . He look the time to teach the kids what they needed to know before they went riding . I have been riding before and the horses are up each others butt and you just sit there. Jeff\\\'s horses are not like that and are the best mannered ever . I felt so safe with my kids on them that i was able to in joy my self and watch my kids have a good time. They are still witting about is in there school books. They ask us all the time when can we go back . Any one that wants the best experience you can have then go riding with Jeff and his crew. I wanted to let you know how great our trail ride was yesterday. My wife & I had the most wonderful time. The greatest part about what you offer is the customization. You decide if you want go right or left. You can decide which horse you want to ride. You can decide if you want to explore a new trail or not. You get to choose if and when you trot, or let out a "Ho!" and stop right then. On most trail rides, about the only thing you can choose is the length of your stirrups, and usually that never gets right, either. Lunch was delicious, and I can tell that you have passion for cooking good food. For anyone considering a trail ride with Show-Me Trail Ride Outfitter's, you should know that the horses are excellent, you are in complete control of the experience and the food (if you're lucky enough to try some) is wonderful. Yee-haw!

Hey Jeff, I wanted to thank you again for the horse rides. It was great fun and a perfect fall day. My brother and sister and the three kiddos all had a blast. I know I was very nervous but only because I completely respect and fear the awesome power of those huge animals! Jeff, We had an awesome time Friday on our 2hr ride. I've been on a lot of guided trail rides and this was the best experience of them all. Each year during Independence Day week my family from California and Colorado come for a visit. I wanted them to see the beauty of Missouri by horseback and I am glad I contacted Show-Me Outfitters. Jeff provided great advice on where to ride and how to prepare. There were 10 of us on the ride. Three children and seven adults. Some of us had virtually no riding experience. Jeff was careful to pick the right horse for each rider and provided outstanding guidance on safety and riding tips. The ride provided us with beautiful views of the Missouri river, forests, and hills. The ride was great fun, "Cowboy Jeff" as the kids named him was entertaining, but diligent about safety. It was a great adventure that we will never forget.

Would highly recommend the trail ride with Jeff. Smithville Lake was beautiful this past weekend while we were riding Red and Cherokee through the forest and down by the lake - even in the lake a bit when the horses decided they were thirsty. Jeff was the super host allowing each rider to ride at their own pace whether it be a walk or gallop at times - this ride was much different than all other trail rides you will experience. Hi Jeff! Our Isabel loves to ride horses, as you could tell. She trains and rides in Argentin so it was important to us that she get to ride while on vacation in Missouri since she loves to ride more than anything. We knew the minute we talked to you that you were the kind of people that we miss from Missouri and we knew instantly that we found the right guy. Hey Jeff, Ben and I wanted to thank you for the wonderful time we had riding at Big River Ranch. You do a great job individualizing each ride. Your ability to find the perfect horse for each rider's experience level is great. Our all day ride was far above our expectations. The horses we rode were great and showed their individual personality. In one day we were able lose any nerves we had around horses and by the end of the day we were completely comfortable with riding. The best thing about it was that everything you said it was gonna be, it was! We rode the horses up and down hills we wouldn't even try to climb, over creeks and along the river. The food was wonderful and being cooked over the fire added to our adventure! We never knew you could make such good tasting brownies over a fire! I hope we are able to venture back down to MO sometime, and if so we will definitely take an extra day to ride with you again!

Jeff, Thank you for the wonderful weekend. My husband and I had not been out for a while this trip was great. It had been a while since my husband and I had been out away from the busyness of everyday life, we spent 2 days and one night with Jeff and the horses. He took the time to make sure that we were both comfortable with the horses before we got out on the trails. It had been at least 5 years since we both had been riding. The food was really good. my husband ate things that he would have never eaten at home. On the second day we rode though the fields and down by the ponds and saw many wild animals. There where two things that we saw that made this trip for me the first was the nest of wild turkey eggs, and the eagles nets. We are hoping to get to ride again in the fall. I highly recommend Jeff for anyone who just wants to get away it is well worth it.

My boyfriend is the kind of guy who has everything, and is impossible to buy Christmas presents for. When I heard about Jeff and Show-Me-Trail Ride Outfitters I thought "this is perfect!" We had the best of experiences riding with Jeff and his horses (Cherokee and Jake). The ride was more than I ever could have expected. The cool December weather was beautiful and the sound of fallen leaves under the horses hoofs made me forget all about stress at home or school. Jeff is also very companionable and his horses were extremely well trained. You could really tell how much time and care Jeff put into training them. I would have paid much more for this wonderful experience than what I paid. My boyfriend and I are already checking our schedules to see when we can go back again in the next couple months!

Jeff and Mara, We had the pleasure of riding with you last week on our vacation and it was the highlight of our vacation! You two were very accommodating and patient with my husband and I and our 3 kids. We are definitely "city folk" and you made us feel very comfortable. This was no ordinary boring ride- you made us work and guide the horses. The first hour was hard- but once you feel a bit more comfortable with your horse it was memorable . I highly recommend the 3 hr ride- 1 would not have been enough- and for greenhorns the 3 hr ride was just perfect- but by the end the kids wanted to go longer! We will definitely be recommending you to friends!!
